Information on UCU elections for 2023-23, covering the positions of UCU general secretary, trustee, FE vice-president and NEC members.

USS survey response continued:

[...] Tell us what is going on. I don't think you have even communicated those interim valuations to members, we've only heard them from UCU and the press! Do better."

Somehow I do not have confidence that they will!

Survey from USS, final question asks me to suggest any improvements, or raise any other points:

"Actually communicate with members about the pensions negotiations. Get the next valuation done properly and promptly. Restore benefits *and* reduce contributions if (as expected) the valuation supports this. Consider restoring benefits ahead of that based on the interim market valuations, or explain why this is not possible. [...] #ucuRISING #CambridgeUCU

Am I reading this correctly? Our pensions benefits were cut in March, and we're currently paying a total of 31.4% of salary (employer and employee contributions) into USS in order to cover these reduced benefits and make up the deficit in the March 2020 valuation. USS's own interim monitoring report suggests that we *could* reduce the total payments to 24.4% *and* restore benefits. I know it's an interim report, and the new full valuation will take place next March and take a while, but WTF?
