There have been rumours that Trixie is leaving #CallTheMidwife, but the fact that they made such a big pointy point of setting her up to be a partner in the Lady Emily clinic makes me think they intend to do something with that.

If she was leaving, they could have said nothing, or sent her back to New York, or given her some nondescript job, or had her be full-time Lady Aylward, or had her *just* work at the Lady Emily.

The highly specific role of partner makes me think there's a plan

From a Doylist perspective, I think it's risky to set the proposed #CallTheMidwife movie abroad, because it would be very easy to put our beloved characters in the roles of (or in roles that *look exactly like*) perpetrators of colonial harm - even if the writers don't intend to write them that way
I hate it when a show leaves me emotional but I still have to just get on with regular life. Like, I have to wake up early tomorrow and go to the doctor and tidy up because maintenance is coming in next week and do my job and ugh #CallTheMidwife
My first thought is to think there should be more (if fake) older photographs. But then I realized it's not necessarily implausible that they wouldn't have a camera and/or the luxury of developing frequent photographs significantly before the show started #CallTheMidwife
