RSVP - Bill Hearing in Sacramento to Make Polluters Pay: April 2

Thousands of Californians are raising their voices to urge the California legislature to pass the Polluters Pay Climate Superfund Act this year. Join us in Sacramento alongside bill authors Sen. Caroline Menjivar and Asm. Dawn Addis to make our voices heard! The bill has its first hearing in Sacramento on April 2 at 9am in the Senate Environmental Quality Committee where committee members will vote on whether to move the bill forward. We're going to show up in force and need YOU there to show legislators that Californians have paid enough. As climate change intensifies, and catastrophic events like the LA wild fires become more common, communities are facing unaffordable insurance rates, housing costs, utility bills, and medical and health expenses. It's time for the polluters to pay up. We'll meet for coffee and bagels at 8am before heading into the hearing at 9am. We'll be distributing t-shirts from 8 - 8.45am. When and Where: Sacramento Capitol. Wednesday, April 2. 8.00 - 8.45: Meet on Lawn opposite East Side Capitol Construction Zone for bagels and coffee, and grab a t-shirt (12th and N Street). 9am – 12pm: Hearing at 1021 O Street, in Room 1200. 12pm - 12.30ish: Group Photo RSVP now to get more information and updates about the event.
