apparently we have another national day of protest tomorrow, for voting rights, as is proper and everyone who can, should participate.
but, what does that mean? I can't; my remaining dog is still fighting for her life; as of yesterday I'm thinking she will win the battle, but I can neither bring her nor leave her home on her own to go protest.
at least I'm at the point where I can do other stuff than just watch her continuously. I even got some sleep last night, albeit with many interruptions.
I will take the time to deal with state bullshit, I think.
- my primary ballot is on the table, ignored. so are a lot of related mailers. I'll check the downballot races and figure it out so it can be mailed on time.
- this bullshit was boosted into my timeline: https://www.uscannenbergmedia.com/2026/05/11/al-jazeera-documentary-highlights-uscs-sale-of-dead-bodies-to-us-navy-israeli-military/ I'll draft a letter, send it to Newsom, possibly rest of UC Regents, and maybe others, if effective, to complain about the ethics violations.
- there are a couple or three bills in front of the CA legislature that my reps need to hear about. no i don't remember what. (I do remember the side effects of note for a good half dozen vet meds and canine chemo protocols.) fortunately, that's what bookmarks are for.
lastly, I'll remind my senators about my opinion on the SAVE act, in keeping with the theme.
anyhow, don't just do nothing, if you can't protest.
