If anyone thinks #californiahighspeedrail wouldn’t work, today on the Capitol Corridor from #sacramento to #sanfrancisco it was a full train. These cities are 86 miles apart. This is often a 2 1/2 hour drive or 3 hour train ride.

On business days it is often one of the busiest routes for #amtrak. Outside of trains connecting to NYC, it’s the 2nd busiest. This route is short. It doesn’t need 220mph speeds but if it hit 120-150 this would be a transit game changer for the #bayarea and Sac.

Today for the first time I rode on the new all-electric CalTrain. The new rolling stock is a big improvement, especially over the cars that were hand-me-downs from Japan circa 1986.
