I decided to republish my Otter Tools #blender toolkit for cleaning up imported #CAD files. I initially pulled it when I tried to figure out what to do as the code is created mostly with AI tools, which might raise concern in some circles - but since the work is already done, why not release it so others don't need to reinvent the wheel. It's been created for my own specific workflow and needs when dealing with crappy CAD imports of industrial plants and other quite heavy CAD content, and may break down at any moment and set your computer, house and cat on fire, so caution is advised.
It features several useful features, like Select Similar which allows the user to select similar objects to the active object, with tolerance controls, and Select by Size which allows selection according to object size.
Another feature is Auto Optimize Meshes, which combines several optimization steps into a single click. It also has some visibility features that allow syncing visible/render states and force reveal according to object type - useful for those trying to hunt that one object that is visible but not rendering, or vice versa, among hundreds if not thousands of objects.
