I did multiple patterns for the 78, to emphasize the escalation through pattern complexity primarily (the voices cant be tweaked, only sculpted by outboard effects). The synths are used as a third party observer, trying to keep up but giving up before the end.

It was too late last night to post it, but I still managed to record #Jamuary day 29: Cue was "Protest" & involved social network graphs. So I went to social media (Mastodon) hours before I would start recording and asked:

Choices were 1, 2 or 4. Two won the poll, but a few wondered about doing something with more than 4. I'll have to revisit that...

Day 22, cue was "Toxin". Decided to do something altogether different. Search for something public domain that would have some toxin involved and use some samples. Of course I used an interview for day 10, "Triangulation", but that was different. Here, I chose bits and pieces and laid them out as part of the track.

Today, I recorded the second track, "Arriving on time". features 4/4 and 2/4 time signatures, along with the CR78 getting some swing.

I have multiple clock source that can also generate the clock sync the CR78 expects. One of them is the FutureRetro Swynx. It swings, it syncs. Swynx. #studio #analog #drummachine #synths #roland #cr78

The programming was done through the WS1 interface. Sadly, in over 30 years of ownership of my CR78, I never found one (at a price I was willing to pay) and instead used a normally closed footswitch. Not only can you program beats in slots I to IV but in play mode, you can play live one of the sound, along with any of the presets.

I recorded another track on the portable lunchbox #eurorack #modular #synth yesterday. It is called "Apple Pi a la Mode", to keep with the lunchbox / food stuff theme. Plus given yesterday's date...

OSv3.0 on the #TR8S is great and all but you don't get much unless you factory reset it (after backing up the 2 kits you made yourself already) .. and then yeah like all the presets have got a bit of #Cr78 in them now, good work #Roland. Next job figure out how to delete all the presets. The editor screen that looks like a librarian isn't, so you can't just drag and drop an init preset over all the others :/
