I did not share here about this year's personal goal - to run Berlin Marathon but today is #MedalMonday 🏅 Celebration and I couldn't be more proud of myself! I enter the lottery last year thinking I will not be picked. So many tried and did not make it. But I guess I got lucky! 🍀
This medal is a special one, as running a marathon was something I never fully believe I can do it. I started running to explore cities while traveling for work almost 10 years ago. Never long, never fast.
But it brought me so much happiness! From seeing new places and discovering communities, #cisrunstheworld was my promise to myself not to stay in bed but get my butt out and get the most out of the short time I had there.
Now #cisrunsmarathons also! Happy #medalmonday to everyone out there out performing themselves every day!
PS: Yes, Last week I was in Oaxaca & CDMX, Mexico with @Interledger Foundation where we held a series of student hackathons, in Seattle, USA to deliver a talk at @cascadiajs and made it back in time to pick up my bib for the marathon!
PPS: From 27°C on marathon day, to 13°C the next day! But guess who has a new jacket to wear?
No one said it was easy, but it was definitely worthy!
