Nach einer Änderung in der Satzung dürfen nur noch europäische Unternehmen einen Vorstandssitz in der Organisation innehaben. Cloud-Anbieter mit Sitz außerhalb Europas und einem Jahresumsatz von mehr als 10 Milliarden Euro können dem Verband als Fördermitglied ohne Stimmrecht angehören.

Microsoft has joined CISPE only months after the trade association agreed not to pursue the antitrust complaint it filed with the European Commission in 2022. In doing so, CISPE has effectively removed its chance for recourse should Microsoft fail to deliver fully on its part of the deal.
