A little bummed out that the $20 Dell Chromebook 3100 I bought it somehow locked so that developer mode isn't allowed.

It doesn't seem to be enterprise locked though. Maybe I can just read out the flash and write it back to change the write-enable bit. I'm not sure.

I just learned how to use the #ch431a so maybe.

Much learning happened last night concerning corrupted BIOSes and recovering them. A programmer was ordered. It was delivered this morning.

The biggest hurdle so far was that all the info I found assumed Windows, and I didn't have anything convenient to the lab with Windows on it. But I eventually discovered #flashrom for Linux and it is happily talking to the #BIOS via my #CH431A programmer and a 1.8v adapter.

Now I'm trying to find something to install on it that actually works. I tried something for this model and revision of motherboard that *should* have been the next version after what was originally on it. No joy. So now it's currently writing the backup I saved before I started this whole mess. Why I didn't think of that first...
