G-BZGO, Robinson R44 Astro, at City Airport Manchester/Barton, 23rd May 2019.
Side view of a single seat, single engined gyrocopter on display in a museum.
This aircraft pretty much has no fuselage, instead being mostly a metal frame with a seat, an engine driving a rearward-facing propellor mounted behind the seat, a mast rising up behind the seat with a freely-rotating undriven rotor at the top, wheels, and a tail.
The seat is a faded brown, with a control column in front and an engine control on the left, and nothing more.
The tail is a bright red, with the registration “G-APUD” in white.
The engine has a red cover, and is attached to a red propellor.
In the background, a cream-coloured walkway wends it way between very pale blue areas for exhibits, with sevral wooden frames visible in a blue area at the top of the frame.
G-ARCI, Cessna 310D, looking rather sorry for itself with it’s engines removed at Blackpool Squires Gate, 30th April 1993.
This plane’s registration was cancelled in January 1989, and was still there (sans tail) in 2004!
