#DigitalIndependance Day has once again arrived. The 1st Sunday of every month is your opportunity to reflect on past efforts to #DeGoogle or renew your commitment to dump U.S. invasive tech. There are better alternatives, either less invasive or #OpenSource.

I voted "No, but..." - because there are pockets of resistance to U.S. social media networks, but it hasn't consolidated into a movement. Our attempt to move politicians off of U.S. tech and into the Fediverse is admittedly struggling. Not enough people see it as important, in comparison to the #BuyCanadian movement or avoiding travel to the USA.
