Jan 14, 2026 @ 19:26 Good evening family & friends❣️ Is it chilly in here, or is it me? Just finished today's meal a little while ago, then I'll get the PoiBoiz settled for the night and go back to bed. I did sleep most of the day but I just do what I'm told 🧠 hahaha! I'm listening to some music from Wendy & Mary (anyone remember them from 40-some years ago? Anyone?) The CCM from the mid-70s through the 80s is the best! I played that stuff nearly 24/7, just feel like doing some revisiting I guess. Do you listen to streaming music? Leelan has us listen to things on Spotify so that's what we use, before that I usually used Live365. But for the most part I like Majesty Radio [https://www.moodyradio.org/stations/majesty-radio] and just about anything on Rejoice Radio [https://www.rejoice.org] but the Mountain Aire station more than the others. And, of course, for my SGM fix, I go to My Harbor Radio [https://myharborradio.com] which should go without saying, this blog is one of their daily sponsors (the first Tuesday of every month) and has been for several years. Anyway, enough of that, I should probably go get the birds put to bed and then myself, I hope your week is going well and I will see you in the morning unless the Lord has other plans. Good night❣️🙇♀️🥱🛌🌛

I didn't learn until today about all of the sexual grooming/abuse/assault allegations coming out against Michael Tait all this year. ("Allegations" seems like an understatement, but I guess that's the legal term since he hasn't been charged and convicted. Yet.)
Lots of feelings. He was one of my biggest idols as a teenager. But right now I've just gotta say: no wonder he's a Trump supporter. (For which I'd already gone off him, but this is… flattening.)

Samia Suluhu Hassan secures second term in Tanzania election
Key Points
Tanzania’s electoral commission has named President Samia Suluhu Hassan the election winner. Officials say she gained almost 98 percent of valid votes cast. The victory secures her a second five-year term in office.
Image credit: Instagram @samia_suluhu_hassanOpposition parties say the poll was fixed to keep CCM in power. They note that key challengers were jailed or disqualified before voting. Reports of unrest, seen also in Tanzania post-election tension report, have raised global concern.
Demonstrations have continued since Wednesday in Dar es Salaam and other cities. Opposition figures allege security forces killed hundreds of protesters. Foreign diplomats say there is credible evidence for high casualty numbers.
Government spokespersons have not confirmed any deaths from the unrest. They urge citizens to await an official security report. Officials instead praised the election as peaceful and orderly.
CCM has ruled Tanzania since independence in 1961. Analysts say today’s result keeps that dominance almost intact. Critics warn that jailing rivals weakens trust in national institutions.
Regional partners are watching the situation closely after reports of mass arrests. Some diplomats privately compare the tension to other security scares in East Africa. See recent African security scare for context on rising alerts.
Opposition leaders now demand a fresh vote under a neutral body. They also call for foreign observers to review detained candidates. The commission insists the process met constitutional rules.
Hassan is expected to address the nation later on Friday. Her speech may seek to calm protests and reassure investors.
