How to Make #Cannabutter, Step-by-Step
Learn how to make weed butter—plus how to bake with and enjoy it—with this recipe and tips from #cannabis expert

"Cannabutter can transform brownie batter, cookie dough, or just about any recipe into a batch of homemade edibles—and you don’t have to be a master chef or cannabis connoisseur to make it. All you need to make weed into butter is patience, organization, a reliable recipe, and some understanding of dosing. Following the same method, you can also make infused chili crisp to drizzle on noodles or elevated coconut oil to coat kettle corn.

"The following weed butter recipe loosely translates into 30 mg of THC per tablespoon of oil or butter. Your perfect dose will vary, but 10 mg is standard. Start by testing ¼ tsp. of the weed butter you make and wait for about an hour. (If this is your first time experimenting with edibles, note that the effects take longer to set in than when inhaling.) Take note of how you feel and let your body tell you whether this is a good amount, or if you need more or less. Erring on the side of caution will ensure that you have a positive experience."

How to make #cannabutter for #edibles with our easy recipe

Last updated May 13, 2025

"#Cannabis-infused butter, or cannabutter, is one of the simplest and most common ways to make edibles. Butter is an ideal medium for cannabis infusion because it’s delicious, versatile to use, and THC needs to bind to fat molecules, which are abundant in butter (as well as oils such as coconut, olive, and vegetable oil)."

#RhodeIsland #HempIndustry faces uncertainty amid federal crackdown on #THC products

"Mike Simpson is one of Rhode Island’s biggest cheerleaders for hemp cultivation and the plant’s derivative products — remedies, he believes, that may help where pharmaceutical medicines cannot.

"It’s that very reason Simpson helped co-found Rhode Island’s only outdoor hemp farm, where he says many of the business’ products ship all across the country.

"But Lovewell Farms’ may cease operations now that Congress has approved reopening the federal government under legislation that would effectively ban hemp products containing more than 0.4 milligrams of THC. If approved by President Donald Trump, the ban will go into effect in a year.

" 'This might be the final straw,' Simpson said in an interview Wednesday. 'I may have to shut my whole company down.'

"Simpson doesn’t sell intoxicating products, but said crops grown at his Hopkinton farm can contain up to 1 milligram of THC in it, as is allowed under existing Rhode Island hemp regulations.

" 'I have 700 to 800 pounds of flower that I grew this year that under that law would not be legal,' he said."

‘The #HempDoctor’ warns of devastating impact in #NorthCarolina from new #THCBan

Shaquira Speaks
Wed, November 12, 2025

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — " 'We have people that range from age four all the way to 95 years old coming in for the products. And they don’t all come in for the products that make them feel euphoric,' says The Hemp Doctor owner Robert Shade.

"He’s been running the Huntersville business since 2018, providing products like gummies, seltzers, and even oils for consumers looking to relax or reduce pain. They contain tiny amounts of THC, the same active chemical in marijuana.

"That will come to an end when the spending resolution to reopen the government becomes law. It contains language that would make all products containing THCA and Delta-8 THC illegal — again.

"That’s 99% of the products in Shade’s stores.

"In October, 39 state attorneys general called on Congress to clarify the definition of hemp — arguing THC products are intoxicating, like marijuana or alcohol.

"The Trump Administration signed the 2018 Farm Bill, legalizing the sale of hemp-derived THC products if they contained less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC by dry weight. A product containing THC in quantities beyond that threshold would be considered marijuana.

" 'It would decimate the industry. You’re talking about the loss of a $70 billion industry, over 300,000 jobs across the country. And it’s a surprise to all of us. I mean, we saw things coming, but we didn’t know it was going to be so detrimental to us,' Shade said.

"The new measure would give businesses one year to close down shop, unless Congress revisits the hemp issue.

" 'We have 365 days to continue the fight, which is really asking every single person out there who uses these products to contact their senators, their state representatives, and tell them to change the amendment. Don’t let this go through,' Shade said.

"Shade urges people to call even when the bill passes, telling them to ask their representatives what they’ll do to make it right."

Fresh off defeating state #THC Ban #Texas #HempIndustry faces wipeout under federal deal to end #shutdown

Marijke Friedman
Thu, November 13, 2025

"As part of the spending deal to end the government shutdown, federal lawmakers approved a provision cracking down on hemp products containing THC, restoring a ban Texas Republicans sought to impose earlier this year.

The funding package, passed by the U.S. House and signed into law by President Donald Trump on Wednesday, includes language banning the sale of hemp-derived products with more than 0.4 milligrams of tetrahydrocannabinol, or #THC, the psychoactive element in #marijuana. The measure would criminalize almost all consumable hemp products nationwide.

The provision was added at the last minute to a bill that provides yearlong funding for the Department of Agriculture. It closes what proponents of the ban call a “loophole” from the 2018 farm bill that allowed the hemp industry to take off without federal regulations. Unless Congress reverses course, the ban is set to start a year after the legislation goes into effect. Opponents of the provision warn it will effectively shut down Texas’ $8 billion hemp industry and the thousands of jobs associated with the sale of consumable THC products.

In the lead-up to the vote that sent the funding deal to President Donald Trump’s desk, Republicans in Texas’ congressional delegation were divided over the hemp ban. Sen. John Cornyn supported the provision, voting against an amendment that proposed to strip the hemp language, while Sen. Ted Cruz was one of two Republicans who voted for the amendment, arguing that hemp and marijuana should be regulated at the state level rather than through a “one-size-fits-all federal standard.”

The House did not take a one-off vote on the hemp ban, but some Texas Republicans weighed in against the idea, despite voting for the overall funding package. Rep. Dan Crenshaw, R-Houston, said he believes a ban should be decided by individual states."
