Black cat just came back from a three day walkabout, having eaten here every day for months.
I was up and down the street, went to see the vets, thought for sure he was a gonner.

Noonie, the old cat we rescued, has too many issues to count (apart from hernia, cancer, liver, kidneys, mental). The big bite she has on her neck hasn't healed, because it was her own doing apparently, not another animal's. She's allergic to something and she scratches her own skin.

Now we're stuck with her, and I need to remove all allergens from her food, i.e. cheaper food. She must eat cooked food actually, along an anti-phosphorus supplement. Not fun.

I joined mastodon.au because I hoped to begin by chatting with aussies. Firstly, because we're all awake at the same time and real time conversations are easy, also because our national news and content is important to me.

Then I learned about hashtags and straight away began to follow many such as. #Bloomscrolling #gardening #photography #bookstodon and of course #Caturday. 😸

These # led me to start following people all over the world and I discovered more # of individual places I once lived and loved.

I stay awake quite late so found I could catch up often with the Europeans but US and Canadians are only just starting their day when I am in the next one.
But it still works as we read and reply anyway.

The exclusivity may come from you all chatting together about your podcast and it's content, like a closed club. Advocates of any #AI slop or US right wing political affiliation will not be popular here. Many of us joined en mass when the old Twitter was bought by that obnoxious brat.

I hope you will begin to follow other hashtags as individuals and enjoy your own personal interests as well and enjoy the infinite variety of the fediverse.
