Alberta cabinet minister won't...

Oh fer Crisssake, how many of these pathrtic non-stories are we gonna hear as the media tries to peddle a clickbait "national unity crisis" narrative? (I guess it will be forever or at least will seem like it.)

Better and more honest headline would read, "Obscure Alberta politician whom no one ever heard of confirms status as non-entity with opinion no one cares about."

As Noel Coward wrote, "And if some grandmother swam Loch Ness,/I just could not care less."#CanPoli #Alberta #JugheadInCabinet

Alberta cabinet minister won't say if he supports keeping province in Canada | CBC News

While other cabinet members have backed Smith's pledge to vote to stay in Canada, Devin Dreeshen avoided answering the question.

“The broader picture is more resilient than Poilievre’s recession narrative allows. Household spending rose in Q1. Canada’s economy added 88,000 jobs in May 2026. The unemployment rate dropped to 6.6% from 6.9% in April. Employee compensation increased. April’s advance GDP estimate showed a rebound of 0.4 per cent which is 1.6% annualized.”

Sharan Kaur: Why top economists are rejecting the ‘recession’ narrative

Political analyst Sharan Kaur says Pierre Poilievre is weaponizing a marginal 0.1% annualized GDP decline to spin a false 'technical recession' narrative, ignoring employment gains, positive per-capita growth, and the genuine trade headwinds currently managed by Mark Carney's government.

Be careful what you wish for when you're a town that has lost its major employer(s) and wants new ones in a similar industry.

Sometimes a company will come along and be the absolute worst.

Like the San Group, in Port Alberni.
The stories I heard of the condition of their employees was horrible.

The company, celebrated in 2018 as a kind of saviour and new path forward, went bankrupt after just a few years and mistreating their employees.

Bill C-9 nears its final vote and royal assent. There is still time to express opposition and to seek reconsideration or withdrawal, but time is short. In addition to @Gigi 's post I also read statements of opposition from CCLA, CLC, and BDS Coalition. I will be contacting my MP with the following, and I offer it freely for public use
