Heard yesterday that #ByronAllen is *renting* the old #LateShow time slot from #NBC. He will then seek his own advertisers to pay for it himself, quite literally the #TV-show equivalent of a restaurant renting space in a larger building.

Whether the individual shows succeed or fail would be immaterial as long as the space is valuable enough to producers of shows.

An entire #rentier economy. The richest among us make nothing, just sell the space.
