OK so, first OC post.

I really do feel like Yuu (Japanese girl from an affluent family) does have family in Latin America (Peru specifically) and goes/did visit them often.

Not only because there's a huge Japanese diaspora in Peru (in reality) but also because I do enjoy giving my OCs some multiculturality. So apart from multiple languages being part of Yuu's education for business stuff, there's also a personal component there. Also it's great motivation for me to actually insert part of my culture into my writing (lost potential there tbh).

It reminds me of #ButterflySoup2 where one of the MCs had some family visit her and the whole cultural clash was so fascinating to read.
