My MIL bought us the book/ #elf thing when my child was three. After reading it, they looked at me and said, “That’s not real. It’s pretend.”

That was that. I was saved from years of stupid elf torture. Smart kids are the best.

But…when we saw #BuddyTheElf at a drug store last year, the now 12 year old child had to have him.

As a #minimalist family, we have very few decorations, just a pencil tree, stockings, and Buddy. We love Buddy so much that he made the cut.

Hung out with some #friends last night, and one of the was wearing specially ordered #socks with my face on them. I haven’t #laughed that hard in a long time. I look like #BuddyTheElf’s long lost cousin!

The story of Buddy the Elf is the book written by Walter Hobbs as a result of his own Christmas-inspired midlife crisis breakdown anxiety. He majorly messed up with the puppy and the pigeon book. Buddy, essentially, is Walter's suppressed inner self.
It is framed as a children's book, but while it is seemingly written and narrated by "Buddy the Elf" it was most likely written by Walter.
