New release of Fern today v1.1.0-beta!

We now have:
- better emoji handling/support in editor
- 🎨 themes are bundled in with the binary builds
- support for UI language switching. Only Spanish and Japanese atm, sorry. Will add more in next release. Please consider helping with translations! ​​

Oh and separately, the Fern user docs are live too!

Translation work on the Fern TUI interface is coming along. Hitting a lot of snags with the different ways languages structure grammar, sentences and words (some don't have a plural, gendered languages, etc). ​​

Will probably need to back up a little and rework things, so it's much simpler in order to improve UI translation accuracy...with the tradeoff likely being more work for translators to setup and maintain. ​​

PS. If anyone knows of good examples of UI translations another project is doing I would love to check them out for inspiration. Thanks! Gracias! ありがとう!

Having refactored the ui and such TuneMaster Pro Deluxe 4K gets a 0.1.0 release.
Now working on 0.2.0 features and fixes. It's been and is a fun learning experience for #golang and #bubbletea plus it's now at a stage I can dogfood it :)

@jd Just FYI I will look into doing pre-built binaries for future releases (v1.0.0 and on), so that there's nothing to install. ​​ That way only need download the binary and save it to a folder in your PATH. #knowledgemanagement #notetaking #journaling #tui #bubbletea #golang #terminal

It looks like you don't have the Go language installed. You'll need to install Go first (see: https://golang.org/doc/install). Once Go is installed is should install OK. I updated the project readme with that as a prerequisite.

I've been head down for the past few months this year, working on a major overhaul of Fern, the note-taking, journal, knowledge-management shell script that I made over a year ago. Super excited to be able to share the new project, which is inching closer to v1.

It's now a beautiful Terminal UI (TUI), written in Go, leveraging the amazing BubbleTea, Glamour libraries. I wanted to make something that could be powerful like #Obsidian or #Logseq while keeping the footprint low as possible. Binary is around 28MB and it runs on that much Memory at fresh start.

Still a bit of a ways off to declaring v1.0 ready, but I'd love love love if anyone wants to be a beta tester of v0.9.0(main). Any feedback, feature ideas that fit your workflow, or bug reports would be hugely helpful.
