"We have detained a person of interest," Providence Mayor Brett Smiley said. "We are lifting the shelter-in-place."
The person-of-interest is a man in his early 20s & was caught about 3:45 am at a hotel in Coventry, RI, ~28 miles south of Providence. He was allegedly in possession of 2 guns.
This will be a state prosecution, not a federal prosecution.
Finals and classes have been cancelled.
