Not sure that state-of-the-art precision guided munitions and weapon systems can be described as 'autonomous systems' if they rely on a real-time comms link to an #AI in some data centre somewhere in the CONUS, but there are bigger issues to grapple with...

What should the default target set include?

We would like it to be 'No Humans' (be they civilians, our soldiers or enemy combatants); a list to which exceptions must be made explicitly in the machines' #ROE

When one thinks of the leading lights in #AI development (Musk et al), one worries the default target set factory settings will be 'All Humans'

This was my caution in the face of the breathless Clinton-era love-fest over outsourcing civil service functions to "cheaper" contractors back in the '90s.

Now we're just "outsourcing" TO MACHINES.

Of course back then, we were also unknowingly dismantling much of the internal architecture that protected our government from SUBVERSION BY the private sector, in what I have now termed the #BillionairesInsurgency. AI is just gonna complete the transition to our profoundly anti-human Tech #Broligarchy.
