One of Scotland’s many Pictish stones, it stands just under two metres high and carries the longest Ogham inscription ever found in Pictland. This seems to include the name "Eddarrnonn". Parts of the structure may date back to the 1100s, though the earliest positively identifiable date for any standing section of the castle is 1567.
