Actress Linda Lavin, best known to TV viewers as Mel's Diner waitress "Alice", has died at 87. Lavin won an Emmy for the role, and won a Tony Award for "Broadway Bound". Lavin had recently been working on the Hulu comedy "Mid-Century Modern".
