British Sea Power - Man Of Aran (2009)

My other new-to-me repeat player for this week. I missed this at the time. Taking the filmic, landscape-drenched elements of BSP's sound to create a mostly instrumental soundtrack to a 1934 film about life on the Aran Islands (as you do). I haven't watched the film, but the post-rock 'n' classical instrumentation music works just fine on its own.

For all that the 00s get flack for “landfill indie” in the UK, BSP made some wonderfully enduring albums, this one most of all. RIYL Echo and the Bunnymen.
