Yesterday, I featured MG Rover’s Streetwise in juxtaposition with the Rover 25 on which it was based. Another variation on the 25 was this slightly sportier MG version, the ZR. Like the Streetwise, the ZR was far less ‘pipe and slippers’ than the standard 25. This sort of rejuvenation measure was essential given that much of the 25’s design and tech, while sound, dated back to the Rover R8 of 1989. I got the impression from an earlier #MotoringFile article that #MINI was aligning with BMW on paint colours, so #BritishRacingGreen wouldn’t be available on upcoming #Cooper series (madness, I know!), however I’m pleased to report that is not the case! 🙌

Still not super thrilled about the replacement of some real buttons and switches with capacitive touch and voice controls, and the perhaps too large central display (spy shots only at this stage), but you’ve got to take wins where you can.

@paka 👆 A Brit invented underground sewers and mains drainage; now we pump it out into rivers.

It's similar to discovering that:

• The French🇫🇷 invented Yorkshire Pudding;

• The Japanese🇯🇵 invented #Whisky;

• EasternEuropeans invented #Haggis.

Vintage Black & Decker Workmate.

12 months ago I reassembled my vintage Workmate. I've got a thing about #BritishRacingGreen so that was the obvious colour for me.
I sand blasted and laquered the aluminium H-frames and bought new rubber boots for the legs.
The top was in good condition so it was given a light sanding and an application of boiled linseed oil.
