It wasn't an #invasion. It was #UnitedNations vote to partition #BritishPalestine into #TwoStates#Israel & #Palestine for the 2 major ethnicities in the region.

Months earlier in 1947, #India and #Pakistan accepted another #UNGA vote to partition #BritishIndia into 2 states.

Palestinians never fought #Ottomans or #British for freedom. THEY REJECTED compromise and chose war against Israel

This pattern was set in motion by the first of the wars. The vote by the #UN General Assembly in 1947 to partition #BritishPalestine into two states, one #Jewish and one #Arab, set off an explosion of violence against local Jewish communities almost immediately in #Palestine itself.

If there were doubts about the justice of the cause being fought for—preventing the establishment of a Jewish state—there is little record for that.

Oh please, stop this BS about compassion and creator.

You are a #Hamas-simp who does not see lack of compassion in deliberately killing civilians using rocket launches.

What happened to APA research paper you were going to write?

You learned nothing from the #UncannySimilarities between #BritishIndia and #BritishPalestine, nor from the difference between #Gandhi (peaceful) & #Bose (violent)

And you have the chutzpah to lecture me on peace and compassion?

Unfortunately, I can't see any of your toots from that fateful day, so I assumed that you wrote the quoted text (below).

It was in the context of partition of #BritishIndia into #India & #Pakistan, but because of myriad #UncannySimilarities, it also applied to partition of #BritishPalestine.

#TwoStateSolution was accepted by #Israelis but rejected by #Arabs.

Mortal enemies must share land that is partitioned to keep them separate, and BOTH sides need to make sacrifices.

You are correctly tugging at multiple threads.

1. #Secular #oneState or #noStateSolution is a fantasy. This is informed by our collective experience in the partition of #BritishIndia, which had many #uncannySimilarities with #BritishPalestine, least of which is that BOTH were offered #TwoStateSolution in 1947.

Mortal enemies #India & #Pakistan settled — Neither was perfectly happy, but it was good enough.

There was still violence, but neither tried to eliminate other
