The ultimate goal since the #Fediverse was born in 2008 has always been to #BringDownTheWalls, that will never change. 😁

@miscosicas I've been a victim of identity theft, and this "cloning" be it without or within the Fediverse, is not even close to the real deal. And I've been a victim as well of people talking about me without knowing it, because they took a screenshot of what I said, _privately_ at that, and posted it elsewhere I didn't know until someone told me.
My only options were (a) ignore it (a.k.a. don't feed the trolls); (b) sue them; and/or (c) make a statement.
Evil people, and people who hates us for some reason only them knows, will always find ways to make our lives miserable. Been there, a lot of times. But here I am, still using social networks and believes in #BringDownTheWalls and #BuildBridgesNotWalls since 2008 when the Fediverse first went online.
Right now, there's no one solution that won't affect the innocents just because of some undesirables. Personally, the innocents far outweighs those undesirables. 🙂
It's The #ATmosphere network, #Bluesky is just one of many #Federated "servers" running on #ATproto protocol.
It's part of the larger/umbrella term #SocialWeb (a.k.a. #OpenSocial ) where the objective (s. 2005) is to #BringDownTheWalls (and #BuildBridges ).

We talk about Bluesky getting users, but Bluesky is part of an open social internet called "The Atmosphere" where other people can make their own apps, including their own versions of Bluesky. Bluesky isn't growing; the Atmosphere is! You're not "our" users; you're a part of a shared place.
Talk about #DDFON (Decentralized, Distributed, Federated, Open, Network) (friendly name: #MycelialWeb), the latest iteration of #Libravatar is now using a federated software.
I think it has been that way after the service was transferred to a new team.
Having said that… what if #ActivityPub or at least the various platforms connected to the #Fediverse mycelium network, use Libravatar?
For this to work though, Libravatar would have to be updated with a new verification process to handle the non-email ActivityPub webfinger. (And I'm not sure if there are other stuff that has to be updated/added.)
If my memory serves me right, #Friendica and #Hubzilla are already doing this, although as a plugin the admin can toggle (but based on the email address attached to the account).

Contrary to what is written on Wikipedia, the claims by blockchain enthusiasts that “Web3” was first coined in 2014 by an Ethereum co-founder, the term “Web3” has been around since 2007, at least according to these online records:
* https://twitter.com/loic/status/280887522
* https://twitter.com/loic/status/364794132
* https://twitter.com/loic/status/484783372
* https://twitter.com/loic/status/493463552
It was Loic Le Meur who first coined it, the brain behind #LeWeb3 conference in France. Web3, or Web3.0 (whichever you prefer to use), is about the #SocialWeb, also called the #OpenSocialWeb, and how #Web3 should be decentralised, distributed, federated, and an open network (#DDFON).
Web3 is broad, and blockchain is just one part of it, **not** _the_ Web3.
Also, the argument that there's a difference between “Web3” and “Web3.0” is invalid. If you track, at least what's on Twitter, the two have always been interchangeable. (Also see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web3 )
So, for whatever it's worth, it's all Web3. No one truly owns the term because it has always been about the decentralisation, distribution, federation, and openness of the Web. Different means, same objective: #BringDownTheWalls and #BuildBridges.
