The shading is finicky, and I pull out and redo about 30% of it. I work on it folded so I don't need a big frame, but it makes mirroring the shading a bit trickier, so I have to spread it out from time to time to see how balanced I am keeping the shading.

I am using at least 8 different shades of yarn for the blues/purples in this stage.

Prepping for the next (scariest) bit of this piece. It involves colour blending with a bunch of different shades of yarn.

For Folks interested in my "process", most of it is eyeballing measurements and using a Sharpie to sketch things out directly on the work surface.I just finished dividing the sky up into segments/gradients to (hopefully) keep my colour blending in track.

To give an idea of scale, this piece is 3 feet wide from border to border.

I am pausing for a bit now because I need to inventory the colour options in my stash and then plan the background palette. I may need to grab a few skeins of #briggsandlittle blues and greens to finish it off.

I will be adding the stems in last with #embroidery.

Slow progress -- borders take FOREVER -- but almost done. Toes for scale.
