If you are in #santacruz today, Private Press Brewing is having an anniversary party at the Swift Street courtyards. It is also a used vinyl LP utopia. There are at least a half dozen vendors of used LPs here; Streetlight Records, Offshore Records, etc. there is music playing and winery tasting rooms are open as well as Private Press’s tasting room. We're deep into the country in Massachusetts (Whitinsville) at a small brew pub. Their food options are minimal so we ordered the "charcuterie boat" because drinking without eating is stupid. PizZwanze at Mazette, in the Marolles neighbourhood of Brussels… Beer brewed mere meters from where I’m sitting, and fresh pizza. And I avoid heating up my apartment even more during this heatwave by not cooking myself!

Just sat down to a very good craft beer from a very small village close to Liepaja named Bārta. The beer is predictably called Bārtas alus (beer from Bārta).

This is a small artisanal brewery that quote "brewed from local malt, real fire brewing, unfiltered & unpasteurised"

The malt is not too strong, in fact a very balanced beer with a pleasant finish.

Bar Crawl across the Baltics pt.2

Beer testing at the local brewery. One thing I noticed here is that every major town has its own brewery! The other weird thing, it has a heated bar! (Warm air blows from underneath the bar 😳). Considering it's summer & the wind chill factor outside feels like -5, it probably makes sense.

The only downside is they serve beer in girly wine glasses...WTF??
