Broke down and filled the Ridiculous Water Feature and New House Saloon the last few days, cleaning between fills and trying to keep an eye out for sick birds. So far rewarded with delightful birdsong and very fastidious birbs. I also added some shiny rocks. Because ambiance is important. #BreakfastTableBirdwatching
I keep apologizing to the birbs for not filling the feeder because of the avain flu outbreak. I miss #BreakfastTableBirdwatching but I would rather help keep the population healthy.
The Ridiculous Water Feature and New House Saloon is back to being filled regularly (I always ease off the feeders in summer because of the natural bounty, but once fall migration hits, it's on!) and the #JuncoArmy is noticing. #BreakfastTableBirdwatching #BackyardHabitat
It's like Goodfeathers up in here. #SquabMob #BreakfastTableBirdwatching
Are pigeons the gangsters of the bird world? Or starlings? Mobs of each discovered my Ridiculous Water Feature and New House Saloon this week, to the dismay of all the other birds. I am trying to figure what to do about it, other than squab recipes. #BreakfastTableBirdwatching
A year later I am still getting used to gull calls as being natural, even commonplace, instead of indicating a fast food dumpster. #BreakfastTableBirdwatching #CoastTimeLife
The sounds I am hearing here at the Ridiculous Water Feature and New House Saloon are the sultry songs of Collared Dove and the Irritated Starlings. #BreakfastTableBirdwatching #BackyardHabitat
As Bird Happy Hour gets rolling (aka I cleaned and restocked and refreshed) I am hoping to identify this character. The photo bombing goldfinch needs no introduction. #BreakfastTableBirdwatching #BackyardHabitat
It's just barely 7 am but if I pull myself together and do my grocery store run now I can spend the rest of my day watching people cut rocks in half online, do some #BreakfastTableBirdwatching and doodle on an old pair of jeans with ball point pen. #OldLadySpring
