I finally finished #BravelyDefault the other day. The final boss was really fucking ROUGH and I nearly gave up on it to be completely honest. But then I slowly put together a really stupid cheese build and I need to share it.
The party set up is split into two roles: zombies and the anchor. The zombies are the damage dealers, using an ability called Minus Strike, that hits harder the closer you are to death. They also have an ability that gives them a 50% chance to revive after each KO at low HP. Combining these two means, that they essentially can just keep dishing out damage forever, no matter how brutal an enemy is. There is only one problem. If they all die at once it is still game over.
This is where the anchor comes in. The anchor's sole job is to be STAYING ALIVE. They have the big healing magic and a HP pool so large, that a single boss attack can never actually kill them. With them always alive, the zombies have all the time they need to bring down any boss.
I've beaten the final boss gauntlet first try with this build, and I can't believe it worked haha.
The video shows spoilers for the entire ending of the game:
