The author Richard Brautigan just came to mind. I read a lot of his works back in my youth but I realised I never hear much about him. I recall enjoying him immensely. What happened?

I've posted it before, but I bumped into it again today and had my usual little chuckle. So I figured I'd share.
It's a (micro-)short story by Richard Brautigan. My favourite example of the form, I think.
