There is darkness on your lantern and pumpkins in your wind.
and Oh, they clutter up your mind
with their senseless bumping
while your heart is like a sea gull
frozen into a long distance telephone
call.

I’d like to take the darkness
off your lantern and change the pumpkins
into sky fields of ordered comets
and disconnect the refrigerator telephone
that frightens your heart into standing
still.

BIBLIOTHÈQUE BRAUTIGAN @ceaac #strasbourg @mariepierrebonniol #brautigan

The author Richard Brautigan just came to mind. I read a lot of his works back in my youth but I realised I never hear much about him. I recall enjoying him immensely. What happened?

I've posted it before, but I bumped into it again today and had my usual little chuckle. So I figured I'd share.

It's a (micro-)short story by Richard Brautigan. My favourite example of the form, I think.

Enjoy.

A thread on "If you use a Library, Share", prompted from my treasure chest of memory, Richard Brautigan and specifically 'Abortion: An Historical Romance' centred around a Library where Authors deposited unpublished MS where they were cared for, which became a real Library for the same purpose, http://www.thebrautiganlibrary.org

There are over 300 unpublished, physical MSs you can go visit and now there's a Digital Collection.
