🇸🇰 I'm not entirely sure I fully understand the Fediverse so I'm just going to fire photos into the abyss until I find some manner of community. Here are some from Bratislava where I went for my first solo trip in about ten years because I managed to convince my wife that travel was the Best Thing Ever™️ and subsequently dragged her around several dodgy backpacker hostels before she convinced me that we wouldn't, like, die or anything if we spent a few quid extra a night on accommodation that didn't have rats in the wall.

Anyway. Bratislava was great actually, I really enjoyed it. I spend an inordinate quantity of time applying bryndzové halušky to my facehole which is tiny potato dumplings covered in a cheese you can only get in Slovakia. I now consist of roughly 46% dumplings and 0% regret.

Hrad Devin was a highlight because as much as I like castles I like bits of a castle even more. You can stand on the ruins and see the confluence of the Danube and the Morava. It looks like they weren't expecting it to happen and neither party are particularly happy about it.

I also did the most batshit wine tasting ever where they unleash you, unsupervised mind you, into an 18th century wine cellar, clutching a glass, a jug of water and a spittoon, and invite you to sample 72 wines in 100 minutes.

Anyway. Three days is entirely too long in Bratislava unless you're particularly fond of museums but I really liked it. It's clean, safe and walkable. 10/10, will drag the mrs there at some point.
