"Tress of the Emerald Sea" Brandon Sanderson. 4 stars. A girl with guts goes off to rescue her one true love, finding a crew of supportive friends along the way. Crazy setting with magic spores. Author let his hair down and it feels fresh & joyful.

One thing that I like about the Wired "exposé" on #BrandonSanderson is how it breaks the myth that authors have to be weird/suffering in any way. It's almost refreshing to see him described as "boring" (even though he's not).

📖 #NowReading: The Alloys of Law by Brandon Sanderson.

I read the first #Mistborn trilogy last summer and it was a great read! Brandon Sanderson is an incredible world builder, so it’s so interesting to see how he took the seeds he planted in that first trilogy into this new trilogy. Things like naming towns after old characters, springing religions out of character actions, and more. It’s always a great read!
