✅️ Let's turn #Bradford Green!
Walking from the theatre in Bradford to Interchange station requires crossing the City Park. It looks good during the day but at night (this was taken yesterday) it really comes to life if the weather allows them to turn on the fountains.
In summer they often allow the water to build up so that it acts as a shallow mirror pool and paddling pool for kids and the fountains are a lot more “lively” but after dark they let it drain leaving just these gentle fountains.
(As an aside, for non UK folks, Bradford gets a lot of flak from the right wing due to its ethnic mix but it’s a stunningly beautiful city (if a little run down), packed with stunning buildings and everyone generally seems to get along just fine. It has a long history of LGBTQ+ activism with a small but diverse “scene”. The city council has invested heavily in the centre and is enacting plans to transform it from largely retail to a mix of residential and retail with a lot of public realm spaces).
