Deciding that I wanted to wear bowties years ago was one of the most fun decisions I ever made. Mostly the decision was to get over the fact that anyone actually cared what I wore.
Though people do notice bowties. And are impressed if you actually know how to tie one, though IMO it's simpler than a Windsor knot.
Random memory that came up recently:
Around 2018 or so I was working at a great little company in downtown #Savannah I went into the office once or twice a week and, when I was there, I'd walk two blocks or so down the Coffee Fox.
One particular day I'm strolling along and, right outside the Fox, this young college-aged gal approaches me and says, "Excuse me, I know this is weird, but can I take a picture with you? We're doing a scavenger hunt for class, and I need someone wearing a bowtie."
And that's how I ended up standing on Broughton street, taking selfies with half a dozen or so SCAD students.
