There is a 2-mile circular path through the gardens. It is an easy walking path, with some small inclines.

It was fascinating to see so many unusual species of plants throughout the gardens. It sometimes felt like I was walking on another world.

Koko Crater Botanical Garden rests in a volcanic crater. The garden was set aside for development in 1958.

It preserves rare, endangered dryland plants from around the world. That includes species from the Americas and Africa (with a section specifically for the plants of Madagascar).
