All’anagrafe, alla nascita, era Robin Gunningham, classe 1973. Fino a oggi.

Banksy’s identity revealed: “The artist has legally changed their name, and this is how they are called today.”

At the registry office, at birth, he was Robin Gunningham, born in 1973. Now, instead, his name has become David Jones, one of the most common in England. This is how Banksy, the world’s most famous street artist, has managed to protect his identity over the years. Until today. When Reuters published an investigative report curated by three journalists who managed to give him a name and a face. They did so starting from Ukraine, where Banksy painted several works in Borodyanka after the start of the Russian invasion.

And, in light of the work of one of the world’s most important news agencies, one can now say that in 2008 the Mail on Sunday was right in asserting that the street artist was Robin Gunningham, born 53 years ago in Bristol. But in the meantime, that man, probably to protect the anonymity that had contributed to fueling the legendary enterprises around his graffiti made with stencils and paint, legally changed his name and became David Jones, one of the most common names in Great Britain and also the given name of David Bowie, whose alter ego Ziggy Stardust inspired Banksy’s portrait of Queen Elizabeth.

The Reuters investigation cross-referenced all the known details about the popular artist, starting from every photo and video where Banksy appears with his face covered, with new decisive documents, particularly those on an arrest that occurred in 2000 in New York. Journalists Simon Gardner, James Pearson and Blake Morrison, starting from a work made by Banksy in Ukraine, investigated every trace left by the artist, even reaching another conclusion: Robert Del Naja, the frontman of Massive Attack, also heavily suspected of being Banksy in the years, is definitely an collaborator with the artist, with whom he could have also created some works together.

The article “Revealed the identity of Banksy: ‘The artist has legally changed his name, here’s his name today’ ” comes from Il Fatto Quotidiano.

There, Oleh met a cat from #Borodyanka She was named Olyvka (in English, Olive) because of the color of her fur. She survived the #Russianoccupation and was found by volunteers after the town was liberated.

In a shelter in #Borodyanka #Kyiv Region, which was occupied by #Russians at the start of 2022, 300 dogs died in a month without food and water after being left in cages by the workers when they evacuated.

To help these #animals find homes, Kyiv authorities hold adoption days.

If hell exists, then after death, these people will definitely find themselves in the very last, ninth circle.

I still hope that American politicians will find the courage, honor, respect for values, life, and sacrifice shown by Ukrainians and help them win.

Otherwise, the dead in #Bucha, #Irpin, #Makariv, #Borodyanka, #Chernihiv, and the tens of thousands of dead in #Mariupol will be forever betrayed. The tens of thousands of Ukrainians who volunteered to defend their country, at the beginning of the war some only in jeans and a decades-old AK-47
