Jedním z nemnoha vlivných představitelů opozice v Rusku ovládaném Vladimirem Putinem byl bývalý ministr a vicepremiér Boris Němcov. Pomáhal organizovat pouliční protesty proti Putinově režimu a ostře se proti němu vymezoval, několikrát jej zatkli a uvěznili. Před deseti lety, 27. února 2015, byl Němcov v Moskvě zastřelen.

This Tuesday, one week after Alexei Navalny’s death, Oleg Orlov, a 70-year-old human rights advocate and co-chairman of the Nobel-Prize winning human rights group Memorial, was convicted under the newly-instituted crime of “repeatedly discrediting” the Russian Armed Forces.
This day, exactly two years ago, at the Boris Nemtsov memorial day, I was able to join for little bit to an anti-war protest movement in St Petersburg, Russia.
