After using the #BooxMira #EInk monitor for a few days, I must say, the "Presentation Mode" is a killer feature - a feature that I miss a lot on the #Dasung #Paperlike Color.

While "Presentation Mode" makes the screen very slow, image quality is vastly improved, and for reading things I strongly prefer image quality over refresh speed.

So, if I want to read something on the #BooxMira, I just switch to the window, press Super+Shift+ß, and it is moved to the correct screen.
Then I can press Super+ß to move the focus (and mouse cursor) over.
If I then press Super+Ctrl+Shift+ß, I can send the LCD screen to standby.

If I want to undo this, I can just press Super+Ctrl+Shift+ß again to wake up the LCD, and press Super+Shift+[0-9] to move the window back to a virtual desktop on the LCD.

I got my new monitor stand today. This is my new setup for reading stuff on PC. Thankfully #SwayWM allows to send individual outputs to standby, so I can leave the #BooxMira #EInk monitor running, while switching the LCD off/on via keybinding. Sending it to standby instead of using the physical power button has the advantage that all windows I had on the LCD stay on the LCD.

After some trial and error, I found that the #BooxMira #EInk display supports more resolutions than are listed in its EDID.
For instance, the following modeline runs it at 1600x1200 at 38 Hz refresh rate:
97.68 1600 1680 1848 2096 1200 1201 1204 1227 +HSync +Vsync

I am quite happy that this works, because my #MNTReform with #BananaPi #CM4 SoM is quite reluctant to go beyond 1080p, so it can't reach the display's native resolution, 1080p has the wrong pixel aspect ratio, and 1280x960 is low-res.

I just got a second-hand #BooxMira #EInk display. While I am using the #Dasung #Paperlike Color for work, I also want an e-Ink screen for my spare-time PC, where I don't have the space for a full-sized second monitor. The Boox Mira should fit nicely though, especially in portrait.
