Still really enjoying Robert Repino's MORT(E) though I keep feeling, weirdly, like I shouldn't be? Like it's going to turn out to be bad religious propaganda or something in the end and will wind up being a shaggy cat story? Do I want to invest in the sequels? Will whatever bad surprise I think I'm sensing only appear when the sink cost fallacy will keep me going? Finished the official Three Body series by #CixinLiu last night. What. A. Ride. I'm totally bowled over. And I downloaded the "fourth" novel, that was originally written as fan fiction by #Baoshu and I'm enjoying the hell out of that, too, though it's distressingly short. Truly, I haven't been this psyched on an author and a fictional universe since I discovered #AlastairReynolds

I'm halfway through DEATH'S END, the third book of Cixin Liu's Remembrance of Earth's Past series, and still astonished by the scope and subtlety of the storytelling. I was originally thinking of Liu as a Chinese Alastair Reynolds, but he's more like Olaf Stapledon! Anyway, holy shit am I glad I finally got around to these. I'm going to go ahead and get the fourth book even though it's a different author. I'm happy that Liu is sharing his sandbox (and hoping it's by his choice).

This is very niche but someone out there might get it. Just about choked laughing at the idea that the smoke-stained old tapestry in Leonard Bailey's house (Dorothy Dunnett's Lymond Chronicles) could be heirloom porn from the hand of Wat the Weaver (Howard of Warwick's Brother Hermitage series).
