There's just something about this author duo that resonates with me. A little jarring to not be in the #expanse universe (after 9 books and a series of novellas) but this one quickly took form and started shaping a story with some interesting characters. The alien species described are also quote intriguing. Very much looking forward fo this series continuing.

I've finished: In the Lives of Puppets by TJ Klune

I have mixed feelings.

Overall this was a pleasant listen.

I didn't put In the Lives of Puppets down.

I did have trouble with the dissonance between the cartoonish characters and the genocidal world they live in.

Nurse Rached and Rambo got on my nerves. Their constant over-acting kept taking me out of the story.
It was the more rounded characters that kept me going, Geo, and the growing relationship between Vic and Hap.
