Jazztodon artist of the week: Christian Bleiming!
German pianist Bleiming plays a traditional style in the style of "Pinetop" Smith, Meade "Lux" Lewis, and other old masters.
In the course of his 30-year career, his distinctive way of playing boogie-woogie, combined with a heartfelt sense of the world of blues piano, developed into a very personal piano style. He's accompanied Angela Brown and Jeanne Carroll, blues musicians "Big" Joe Duskin, Tommie Harris, Guitar Crusher, Tommy "Madman" Jones, and boogie-woogie greats Martin Pyrker and Axel Zwingenberger. A highlight was his participation in the band of rock ’n‘ roll legend Chuck Berry in November 2005.
Between 1990 and 2011, Christian Bleiming released eight CDs.
Fats Domino Swings by Fats Domino, released on Imperial in 1959.
