The Sourdough Saloon in Beatty, Nevada, is one of the closest watering holes to Death Valley and a favourite haunt of many of the engineering and test driver teams that visit the valley to test and calibrate vehicles in the extremes of that unique climate.
Many of these teams leave parts of the cars they have tested behind on the walls of the bar and many other visitors sign bank notes and post them on the walls as well
This is a 12 year old shot from a road trip I'll never forget.
5000 miles in a 1970 Cadillac I'd bought off eBay the year before, had shipped to my brothers place in San Jose and flown in from Australia to do a little work and drive around the local area while in town for his wedding.
A year later I headed back over and put together a road trip of a lifetime including LA, the Bonneville salt flats, Yosemite National Park, Death Valley and much more.
