Am I being overly sensitive or is this type of reporting unnecessarily ghoulish.

I think that if the shooters posted this level of detail there would be howls of distress, disgust, and call for it to be taken down.

Just a reminder that Islamic State and Hamas are enemies. The shooters were inspired by IS - there is no suggestion they were driven by anything to do with the Palestinian cause.

Even if you believe every activist holding a Free Palestine sign is a Hamas supporter, the idea that banning protests against genocide will do anything to prevent this kind of attack in future is nonsense. If anything, the opposite will happen.

Islamic State is a direct result of the American war on Terror. The Islamophobia and curtailing of civil rights that started after September 11th only caused more violence in the US and around the world, created a new generation of disaffected and oppressed people drawn to violent retaliation.

These kneejerk authoritarian responses to violence only breed more violence, while preventing peace activists from doing their work. If you want to "turn down the temperature", then promote and protect peaceful protest. Shore up our civil rights.
