Un uomo di 50 anni sospettato di aver ucciso il suo inquilino spagnolo e di averne poi smembrato il corpo nel tentativo di disfarsene comparirà giovedì davanti a un giudice a Bobigny. La procura ha chiesto la custodia cautelare con le accuse di omicidio e profanazione di cadavere. Lo riferisce la Agence France-Presse, citando fonti giudiziarie.
L’uomo è stato arrestato lunedì sera a Saint-Denis, nella periferia nord di Parigi. Durante l’interrogatorio avrebbe in parte confessato l’omicidio dell’inquilino, un cittadino spagnolo di 33 anni, indicando come possibile motivo il mancato pagamento dell’affitto. A far scattare l’allarme è stata la zia della vittima, preoccupata perché non riusciva più a contattare il nipote da diversi giorni. Dopo essersi recata nel monolocale affittato dal giovane senza ottenere risposta, aveva notato che la sua auto era ancora parcheggiata all’esterno e ha quindi contattato le autorità.
La scena del crimine
Quando vigili del fuoco e polizia sono entrati nell’appartamento, hanno trovato il corpo dell’uomo ormai senza vita. Secondo la procura, la vittima era stata smembrata e i resti erano stati collocati su un telone e in diversi contenitori all’interno dell’abitazione. In particolare il tronco sarebbe stato messo in una scatola di plastica, mentre la testa della vittima si trovava in bagno. Gli investigatori hanno anche trovato resti di carne in una pentola, e si pensa possano appartenere proprio all’uomo ucciso, come scrive Le Parisien.
Secondo alcune testimonianze raccolte nel quartiere, il proprietario non viveva stabilmente nell’abitazione ma vi si recava solo occasionalmente per effettuare piccoli lavori. Il direttore di un ristorante della zona lo descrive come un uomo solitario, che talvolta si fermava a bere un caffè e leggere il giornale, “sempre da solo e senza parlare con nessuno”.

A 50-year-old man suspected of murdering his Spanish tenant and subsequently dismembering his body in an attempt to dispose of it will appear before a judge in Bobigny on Thursday. The man was arrested Monday evening in Saint-Denis, in the north-western suburbs of Paris. During questioning, he partially confessed to the murder of the 33-year-old Spanish tenant, citing unpaid rent as a possible motive. The alarm was raised by the victim’s aunt, who was concerned because she hadn’t been able to contact her nephew for several days. After visiting the rented studio apartment without response, she noticed that her car was still parked outside and then contacted the authorities.

The crime scene

When firefighters and police entered the apartment, they found the man’s body already lifeless. According to the prosecutor, the victim had been dismembered and the remains were placed on a tarpaulin and in several containers inside the residence. In particular, the torso was placed in a plastic box, while the victim’s head was found in the bathroom. Investigators also found remnants of meat in a pot, and it is believed that this could belong to the murdered man, as reported by Le Parisien.

According to some testimonies collected in the neighborhood, the owner did not live permanently in the apartment but only visited occasionally to carry out minor repairs. The owner of a local restaurant described him as a solitary man who sometimes stopped for a coffee and to read the newspaper, “always alone and without speaking to anyone.”
