Ok, time for some music talk. When Bob Mould’s band Sugar released Copper Blue I was neck deep in completing my masters, teaching full time, planning my wedding, and attempting to buy my first house. Needless to say, a lot was happening in my life. I would study every night for my comps with it playing in the background for 4 hours at a stretch. I created mnemonic devices with the lyrics to help me recall 75 (yes really 75) citations of literacy research. During the exam I sang silently to myself and crushed it. Yesterday, I bought tics to see the Sugar reunion tour in August. That album kept me sane in a time of great challenge. I can’t wait to see Bob and Co do this album live again.
