UK narrowboats have a safety inspection every four years called the "Boat Safety Scheme" and mine's coming up in Spring 25. The BSS inspector checks gas, electrics, ventilation & various other things.
I knew my 12v system was a bit crap, so investigated further... and ended up replacing it all so I could sleep at night.
