Another Kara update from @deviantollam
She is still scheduled for release, but all the trans women at her prison have been moved.

Looking at the docket in Fleming v. Warden T. Rule, a group of individuals intervened in the case, seeking a preliminary injunction moving all trans women to a segregated unit, which is exactly what happened to Kara: https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.txnd.400241/gov.uscourts.txnd.400241.197.0.pdf
On 1 June, the Court granted the PI: https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.txnd.400241/gov.uscourts.txnd.400241.199.0.pdf
This PI prohibits the prison from housing trans women with cis women, or allowing trans women to use any area where cis women are not just shower rooms and such but also "elevators, dining areas, recreation areas, the mailroom".
I do take issue with the way the order is written. The order uses the term "male inmate", defined as "a person who is biologically male, regardless of gender identity". I don't think I need to explain the problem with such language, or the concerns it raises for the impartiality of the Court.
The judge is Sidney A. Fitzwater, a Reagan appointee.
Texas is within the Fifth Circuit, which is notoriously right-wing, so I doubt there will be any relief on appeal.
